Astronomy Dark Sky Viewing at Rooftop Tent Rally

Did you know that James River State Park is a member of the International Dark Sky Association? Learn more about the importance of dark skies while we explore our vast and endless universe with our telescopes. Who knows what we will find? We will have astronomers offering presentations, telescopes, and a wealth of knowledge to interpret what you're viewing. If you have a telescope or binoculars, bring them with you, and we will give you some pointers. If it’s cloudy, we will still offer a presentation.

Please meet at IDA Viewing Area. Please bring some comfortable chairs. Suitable for all ages.
