Take a Step into History

Start the new year with purpose and peace, and step into history. Join us for a guided First Day Hike through the hallowed grounds of Sailor’s Creek Battlefield, where nature and legacy intertwine. This moderate, family-friendly hike will take participants along scenic trails that once bore witness to the final days of the Civil War.

Led by a knowledgeable park ranger, the walk will highlight key moments from April 1865, share stories of soldiers and civilians, and invite reflection of resilience and renewal. Along the way, enjoy winter wildlife, quiet woodlands, and sweeping views of the battlefield’s rolling terrain.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, nature lover, or simply seeking a fresh start, this hike offers a meaningful way to begin the year. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water. Leashed pets are welcome. Let the land speak, and let your steps honor the past.

በየዓመቱ ጥር 1 ላይ ቨርጂኒያ ግዛት ፓርኮች የመጀመሪያ ቀን የእግር ጉዞዎችን ያከብራሉ። ይህ አገር አቀፍ ተነሳሽነት ሰዎች ከተፈጥሮ ጋር በመገናኘት እና በስቴት ፓርክ ውስጥ ዘላቂ ትውስታዎችን በማድረግ በአዲሱ ዓመት እንዲደውሉ ይጋብዛል. በሬንገር የሚመሩ እና በራስ የሚመሩ የመጀመሪያ ቀን የእግር ጉዞዎች በስቴቱ ውስጥ ይቀርባሉ፣ ይህም በሁሉም የእድሜ እና የክህሎት ደረጃ ጎብኚዎች ከቤት ውጭ እንዲጎበኙ እድል ይሰጣቸዋል። ጃንዋሪ 1 በሁሉም የቨርጂኒያ ግዛት ፓርኮች ነጻ የመኪና ማቆሚያ ቀን ነው። (በተፈጥሮ ድልድይ ያለው የመግቢያ ክፍያ አሁንም ይሠራል)።
