Make the most of the shortest day of the year by stepping outside, connecting with nature, and welcoming winter with fresh air and scenic views. Join us on the Buck Hollow Trail, a rewarding out-and-back trek totaling just under 2 miles round trip.

This difficult-rated trail winds through a winter woodland landscape, leading to the Buck Hollow Overlook, where you'll be treated to a view of Douthat Lake. Along the way, a park ranger will highlight winter flora, share insights into the wildlife that call the park home during the colder months, and offer a glimpse into Douthat’s rich history.

-Meet at the Camp Store Parking Area.

-Make sure to dress warmly, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and bring water. 

-The trail is rated difficult. There is uneven terrain and elevation gain.
