መግለጫ፦	The Friends of Dragon Run, in partnership with Chesapeake Conservancy will acquire a 241-acre tract in King and Queen County and close a gap in protected lands along the Dragon Run Conservation Corridor. The property will be owned and managed by the Friends of Dragon Run with an easement held by Virginia Outdoors Foundation. The project will protect forest, agricultural, cultural, and scenic values in a high-integrity, high-value watershed. The property is a mix of forest, agriculture and wetland areas. There are 40 acres in agricultural production, more than 50 acres of bald cypress swamp, and 150 acres of forestland. Additionally, more than 3,000 linear feet of the mainstem Dragon and 9,000 linear feet of an unnamed tributary will be protected with 100’ forested riparian buffers. As a result of the project, more than 25,000 acres will have been protected in Dragon Run, 27% of the watershed. Friends of Dragon Run received a VLCF grant of $475,000 for this project.
