Unnatural objects that make it into the water at Twin Lakes State Park can end up harming wildlife in the Chesapeake Bay, one of the most important waterways in the region. Do your part and help rangers clean the bay and keep our precious waterways healthy by assisting with a litter cleanup; the wildlife will thank you! Parking fees do not apply to registered volunteers while they are performing service at the park.

Each year Virginia State Parks participates in the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day, an event dedicated to protecting and preserving the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Park visitors are invited to join a clean-up to help remove litter, debris and pollution from rivers, streams and shorelines that feed into the Bay, contributing to the health of the Bay’s ecosystem and ensuring cleaner water and safer habitats for wildlife.
