Christmas in July: Top 5 Virginia State Parks gifts
Who says you have to wait until December to start spreading holiday cheer? Christmas in July is the perfect time to beat the heat and get a head start on your gift list.
Whether you're shopping for the outdoorsy type, a parks superfan or just want to treat yourself, we’ve rounded up our top 5 Virginia State Parks gifts.
1. Virginia outline design merchandise

This design lets you rep your love for all of Virginia’s state parks at once
This modern outline design can be found at many parks across the state.
It’s featured on a range of items, including a hoodie, T-shirt, coffee mug, sticker and magnet.
2. ECO Cap

The wolf is one of many featured animals
Nature lovers will love these casual, unstructured baseball caps, also called “dad hats.”
Each hat is embroidered with flora and fauna found at Virginia State Parks and comes with an interpretive tag that describes the animal’s or plant’s habitat and range, an interesting fact and its common and Latin names.
With so many options, you can collect them all!
3. Virginia State Parks ornament

The 2025 Christmas ornament featured a chipmunk
The Virginia State Parks ornament is the perfect gift for the person in your life who already has everything.
Each year features a new, limited-edition design inspired by the natural beauty and wildlife of the parks. This 2026 ornament showcases an owl, symbolizing wisdom, knowledge, intuition and mystery.
The ornament will be released this fall, so mark your calendar and stop by a park to grab yours before it flies off the shelf.
4. Opossum

The opossum is a very popular item
What’s soft, cuddly and unexpectedly adorable? Our plush opossum.
These fuzzy little friends are Virginia State Parks’ bestselling item, especially with kids and the young at heart. They’re cute, educational and a fun reminder of Virginia’s wild side.
5. Bike Jersey

The High Bridge Trail State Park bike jersey
Ride in style while supporting Virginia State Parks. These vibrant, high-performance bike jerseys are a must-have for cyclists who love to explore the parks on two wheels. Featuring moisture-wicking fabric and scenic designs, they’re both practical and eye-catching.
The jerseys are available at High Bridge Trail and New River Trail state parks, two of our four parks with rails-to-trails biking.
6. Bonus gift

Gift certificates can be purchased online or in person
A Virginia State Parks gift certificate is the perfect present for anyone who loves the outdoors or wants to try new adventures.
Gift certificates can be used for annual passes, park entry fees, overnight stays in a cabin or at a campsite and gift shop purchases, offering flexibility and convenience.
You can purchase a gift certificate at a park or online at www.virginiastateparks.gov/gift-certificates.
Where to shop
Every park, and every gift shop, is unique. Gift shops range in size, offerings and operating hours, so if you have questions about one, you’ll need to contact the park where you want to shop.
When making your purchase, consider rounding up and donating your change to the Virginia State Parks Round Up for Parks program. One hundred percent of the change collected goes toward the conservation, development and maintenance of parks.
